Best business books for personal/business growth

The Holidays are here, and you need gift ideas for your coworkers, family, or yourself. Like most everyone, I’ve read a lot of books over the years, and a few of them have been very helpful, if not great. Here is a short list of my favorites for business owners and executives. Let me know what you think, or if you have other suggestions! Click the title for the affiliate Amazon link to see more info, pricing, reviews, etc. Enjoy!

  1. The Inner Game of Tennis, by W. Timothy Gallwey and Zach Kleiman

This is THE book to read when you have a problem that you just can’t figure out. It will help you train your mind to think through all options, even when you are thinking about something else. Football coach Pete Carroll and basketball coach Steve Kerr swear by it.

  2. It’s Your Ship, Capt. D. Michael Abrashoff

The amazing story of how one naval leader took his ship from last to first in the whole fleet, by engaging his crew and inspiring the whole team to be great.

  3. Who Moved My Cheese?, Spencer Johnson

A classic, short and to the point. If you haven’t read it, you need to. If you have, read it again. This book inspired me to leave my corporate job and strive for greater things.

  4. Good to Great, Jim Collins

The definitive study on how to build a great, lasting company when you don’t start with great institutional DNA.

  5. Future Marketing: Winning in the Prosumer Age, Jon Wuebben

Jon’s third book on marketing and content. A visionary in the field, and well worth a look.

  6. $10k Challenge: Find $10k in 45 Minutes

A perfect look at how to rethink the strategic marketing practice of your small business, and discover tens of thousands of unrealized revenue.
